Our customers tell us that what sets us apart is that we are very accommodating. First of all, we are considered a medium sized mover, with over a dozen full-time employees and own and operate eight trucks. We do not broker or subcontract. You will always have a single point of contact. We will learn your transitional requirements and plan accordingly. Our estimates are very accurate and we always do what we promise.
We are also an interstate agent for Bekins Van Lines, which gives us access to a strong nationwide fleet of professional movers. This helps us better serve you.
The sooner, the better. An exceptional customer experience for the move always starts with a personal visit and site survey. So whether you are moving next week, next month, or next year, the best time to contact us is now. This is because we will help you develop a custom moving plan, and identify and plan for the caveats. We can also help you with downsizing and decluttering. And of course, provide you with our signature guaranteed pricing.
Once we perform the site survey, we will present you with a moving plan and guaranteed pricing. Pricing models are as follows:
Local Moves: These are priced by the hour. We typically flat rate travel time, then track the billable hours for loading and unloading.
Long Distance Moves: Prices are based on weight and distance. We first determine the cubic footage, then use industry standards to estimate the weight. We then provide you with a moving plan and cost estimate. Whenever possible, we will provide a “rate cap,” which is a guaranteed, not to exceed price. Shipments will be weighed utilizing certificated scales, and scale tickets will be available.
A custom moving plan is a written plan specific to your needs. It will include logistics analysis and service dates. , rates, costs for packing options, and will clearly identify what services we will perform and when. Also, it will include any considerations for decluttering, downsizing, donation of unwanted items, and dump runs.

All moves are done with our trucks and our NH based employees. We preform approximately 600 moves per year. The breakdown is about one-third local moves, one-third regional moves and one-third long-distance moves.

Yes, but how much protection you have and its cost to you depends upon the "valuation" program you choose – Full-Value Protection or Released Value Liability (60 cents per pound per article). The release value of 60 cents per pound is included in all moves. It is the lowest level available and is prescribed by law.
The second option is the Valuation Option. The valuation option you select determines the basis upon which any claim will be adjusted and establishes the maximum liability of The Country Picker. Under this protection plan, if any article is lost, destroyed, or damaged while under our care, we will either 1) repair the article to the extent necessary to restore it to the same condition as when it was received by us or pay you for the cost of such repairs, or 2) replace the article with an article of like kind and quality or pay you for the cost of such a replacement. Prior to our crew leaving: As part of our procedures, the moving crew will have a job set up sheet that details the important aspects of your move. They will load the proper supplies before they leave the warehouse. Typically the crew leader will call prior to leaving our warehouse Once we arrive to load: Once the crew arrives, they will do a walk-thru and begin. First will be prep work, and inventory if long-distance or warehouse. After the prep work, they will begin loading the truck. Your detailed moving plan will estimate the time they will be loading, and the delivery. Once done loading: The crew leader will do a walk-thru to make sure we have everything. We will then do the necessary paperwork prior to departing.
It is generally OK to leave your clothing in your dresser drawers during the move. Be sure to remove anything from the drawers that is breakable or may roll around or shift during transport, as this can cause damage. If the dresser is particularly large (a triple dresser or part of a large armoire), it is best to at least partially empty it.
Odd sized, smaller boxes like liquor boxes can actually cost you time and money, especially on local hourly jobs, or if your items are coming into storage. Used boxes do not have the structural integrity of a new box, and the odd sizes will take the crew longer to shuttle and stack. We do not recommend them.
